Charles "Nuz" Selby was active on the local bowling scene for over twenty years until back problems forced him to retire from the sport.  He bowled on three of the prmier local bowling teams of his era during the 1960's & 1970's.  In addition he led the Middletown Association in average with a 208 during the 1969 - 1970 season.
 
"Nuz" has a high game of 289 and a high series of 760, along with numerous other 700 series.  He won the team handicap title of the Middletown Bowling Association's City Tournament with Coomer & Shepherd Realty in 1962.  He teamed with Carl Compton to win city doubles championship in 1974.  He also bowled on Gene Henry Welding Team, winner of several city tournament team titles.
 
"Nuz rolled a nine game total of 1921 in the All Events catagory in an ABC National Tournament held in Knoxville, TN & was also part of the team that finished 12th in the ABC tournament held in Detroit, Michigan.
 
He won numerous Armco Tournament titles including singles, doubles, all events & team titles.  He has won the New Year's Day Sweeper tournament held at Sports Bowl in 1968 with an 874 series.  "Nuz" also has won titles in D.I.A.A. bowling tournaments twice and was part of many teams that won league titles.  Additionally he has also won the Middletown 700 Club Tournament in both the Classic & Middle Divisions.
 
"Nuz" continues to be involved with local bowling through his work at Sports Bowl & many of us continue to rely upon him for our ball drilling & other bowling needs.

Nelson Hurte has been bowling for over 40 years.  He started bowling in the youth leagues at J&J Lanes on South Main Street.
 
Nelson has been a past Middletown City Singles Tournament champion, a Middletown City Tournament Doubles champion, and a member of the Middletown City Tournaments championship team.
 
Additionally, Nelson has also been a champion in the Armco Tournament in singles, doubles, and team championship catagories.
 
Nelson has been active behind the scenes as well.  He has held league officer positions & coordinated league jackpot activities.  Furthermore, Nelson is president of the local 700 Club & is active in the youth bowling leagues at Sports Bowl as a coach.
 
Nelson has a high game of 300, a high series of 792, and a high season average of 217.  This in addition to bowling in the ABC Championship for 25 years.

Dave Calhoun Sr. has been bowling for over 32 years.  He has served as team captain for various teams for over 20 of those years. Additionally he has placed in the top ten several times in the singles, doubles, and team event catagories of the Middletown City Tournament.  Dave won the Middletown City Tournament All Events title in 1980 and was part of the first place team in 1975.
 
Dave had bowled in numerous local & state Moose Tournaments and rolled a 300 game in the 2000 event held in Canton, OH.
 
Dave has rolled three perfect 300 games, two 299 games, two 298 games, and a 297 game.  Dave has bowled more than fourt 700 series and won four ABC awards for 11 strikes in a row.
 
Dave has averaged over 200 every season for the past ten years.  His high average is 218 with a high series of 787.
 
Dave has been part of several league chamionship teams as well.  As such he has always been looked upon as a true competitor & gentleman in the sport of bowling.
